Five mayors to meet Environment Minister Dempsey on Thursday in lobby to keep city status

The Sinn Fein Mayor of Sligo, Alderman Seán MacManus, will be among a delegation of five mayors meeting Environment Minister Noel Dempsey TD at Leinster House this Thursday in a bid to persuade the Government not to abolish corporation borough status for the five cities of Sligo, Kilkenny, Wexford, Drogheda and Clonmel.

The delegation is meeting the Minister at 1:30pm, Thursday.
