Bloody Sunday - No Price on search for justice

Sinn Fein Chairperson Foyle MLA Mitchel McLaughlin, party spokesperson on criminal justice has said that there can be no price put on the search for justice in the Bloody Sunday Tribunal.

Mr McLaughlin said:

``We have to accept that expertise costs money. It is important that the families searching for justice in the Bloody Sunday Tribunal have the best legal representatives available given the fact that they are taking on the entire British military and security machine.

``The search for justice in Derry, into the events on Bloody Sunday when civilians were killed by British Army Paratroopers is an important part of the search for a lasting peace in Ireland.

``The failure successive British Governments to fully accept their role in the conflict in this part of Ireland has not helped in that search for peace. There can be no price put on making the British Government accountable.''
