Foot & Mouth - Gerry Adams calls for people to co-operate fully with Departments of Agriculture

Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams MP, speaking following the confirmation of an outbreak of the Foot and Mouth Disease in County Louth, said:

``It was deeply disappointing and distressing to those in the Irish agricultural industry and in rural Ireland to hear of this morning's outbreak of Foot and Mouth Disease in County Louth.  I want to commend the efforts of those who are involved in trying to stop its spread and ask people to remain vigilant.

``I want to appeal to anyone with information regarding the sheep that remain missing following the outbreak of Foot and Mouth in South Armagh to contact the Departments of Agriculture, North and South.''
