Sinn Fein Equality Conference

Sinn Fein representatives from across Ireland will hold a conference on Equality on Friday 5th July in the Slieve Gullion Courtyard in South Armagh.

Speaking ahead of the Equality Conference, Sinn Fein newly appointed Equality and Human Rights Spokesperson, Newry Armagh MLA Pat McNamee said:

``Sinn Fein activists from both the South and North of Ireland will be meeting to discuss what lessons we can learn from each other in terms of advancing the Equality Agenda.

``Many people are frustrated at the lack of progress on implementing key areas of the Equality Agenda that were committed to when people signed up for the Good Friday Agreement. There are implications for everyone in the North but also throughout the rest of Ireland as a result this lack of progress. But the growth in inequality - the gap between the rich and poor - is common to every corner of Irish society.

``Sinn Fein representatives from across Ireland will be coming together to share experience and to develop plans to ensure that there is greater progress many Ireland a more equal and fairer society in the future.''
