Reid decision to cancel meeting incomprehensible

Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams MP has described British Secretary of State John Reid's decision to cancel a meeting, which they had scheduled for tomorrow as `incomprehensible'. Mr. Adams said:

``At a time when there is a real and urgent need to manage the fallout of recent events and when the British Secretary of State has questions to answer, his cancellation of a meeting which we had scheduled for tomorrow will further undermine nationalist and republican confidence in his role.

``I find his behaviour juvenile and incomprehensible.

``I do expect to meet the Taoiseach Mr. Ahern in the next day or so and we are making arrangements for a meeting with Mr. Blair.'' ENDS
