Dublin City Council should end bully boy tactics

Daithí Doolan, Sinn Fein Candidate for Dublin South East, described the letters sent by the Dublin City Council Law Agent as absolutely scandalous. Dublin City Council are again attempting to bully people into paying the extra bin tax.

``I have been inundated with requests from my constituents to explain the contents of this legally jargoned letter. People are furious that Dublin City Council are backing up this unjust double tax with the tactic of threatening those who don't pay.

Constituents made homeless last weekend from flooding in Ringsend have received these threatening letters during the week. This letter is absolutely uncalled for and shows just how desperate this Council administration really is. At this weeks Council meeting it was revealed that only 15% of people have actually paid the charge and this letter will ensure peoples' opposition to this ridiculous bin tax. I am publicly calling on Dublin City Council to retract this letter and to desist from their bullyboy tactics.
