Ó Snodaigh calls for all-party Dáil delegation to visit interfaces

Sinn Fein TD for Dublin South Central Aengus Ó Snodaigh is paying a fact-finding visit to the Short Strand area of East Belfast this afternoon. Deputy Ó Snodaigh will be issuing a report to the Irish government and opposition parties on his return to Leinster House.

Deputy Ó Snodaigh along with party colleagues Cllr. Joe O'Donnell and Ard Chomhairle member Lucilita Bhreatnach will be available to speak to the media at 3pm at the Short Strand Community Centre. Speaking prior to the visit Deputy Ó Snodaigh said:

``I visited the interface areas in North Belfast two weeks ago and was shocked and angered by what I witnessed. I will be visiting the Short Strand area this afternoon and will meet with my colleague Joe O'Donnell and local residents caught in the brunt of the current loyalist pogrom.

``At the earliest opportunity I will be making contact with all of the other parties in Leinster House to try and organise an all-party delegation of TDs to visit the interface areas in Belfast to see at firsthand the plight of Irish citizens living in these areas.''ENDS
