Bomb discovered under republican's car

Commenting on the discovery of a bomb under the car of a republican in Greystone this evening Sinn Fein MP for the area Michelle Gildernew has said that many local people are convinced that this is the work of the British forces in collusion with their loyalist allies.

Ms Gildernew said:

``A local republican woman, who is heavily pregnant, discovered the sophisticated device under her car this evening in the Greystone area. The area has been saturated with the British Army and the PSNI for the past number of days.

``It is believed that this device is similar to the type used to murder solicitor Rosemary Nelson in Lurgan a number of years ago.

``Due to the sophistication of this device, the area in which it is planted and the Crown Force activity in recent days, local people are convinced that this murder attempt is yet another in a long line of British collusion with their allies in the loyalist death squads.

``It was only through this woman's vigilance that this attack has been thwarted and I would urge all nationalists and republicans in the Tyrone and Fermanagh areas to be on their guard in the time ahead.''
