Ordinary citizens will be made pay for Champagne Charlies squandering of Celtic Tiger

In an initial response to the latest Exchequer figures Sinn Fein Dáil leader and spokesperson on Finance, Caoimhghin Ó Caoláin, said:

``These figures highlight the Governments' bad planning and lack of long-term economic strategy. Minister McCreevy squandered the most prosperous years of the Celtic Tiger with tax cuts for the wealthy and failed to develop public services when he had the best opportunity to do so.

``Now the ordinary citizen is paying for Champagne Charlies binges with cuts in health and education.''
