RUC and securocrats at N.I.O. blocked Rosemary Nelson security

Sinn Fein Mid-Ulster Assembly Member, Francie Malloy has accused the RUC and N.I.O. of blocking an application from Human Rights Lawyer, Rosemary Nelson for personal security assistance.

Mr.Malloy said:

``There needs to be a public explanation from both the RUC and the securocrats within the N.I.O. as their reasons for blocking a request from Rosemary Nelson for personal security assistance.

``It is intolerable that the RUC who threatened Rosemary Nelson's life should have had the ability to deny her adequate security.

``Collusion neither begins nor ends with the handing over of personal details. The refusal to provide security to high profile individuals by the RUC and N.I.O. is the hidden aspect of collusion with those who carry out the physical attacks.

``Those who deliberately left Rosemary Nelson exposed and vulnerable to attack despite the very obvious threat to her life are as much responsible for her death as those who carried out the actual assassination.''
