Hillsborough talks - `deal not done'

Speaking at Easter Commemoration in Leigue Cemetery, Ballina, Co Mayo, Sinn Fein TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin said:

``The Good Friday Agreement was negotiated in Holy Week 1998 not in Holy Week 1999. Our party was at Hillsborough throughout the past week not to renegotiate or rewrite the Agreement but to see that it was implemented as negotiated last year. That is still the task of Sinn Fein, of both governments and of all the parties. On this basis we approach the paper presented by the two governments on Thursday last.

`` People could be forgiven for thinking that this paper is a `done deal', agreed by all the parties. This paper is a draft presented by the governments. It has not been agreed between the parties and the impasse in the implementation of the Agreement remains.''
