Molly Malone's to Stay

Sinn Fein Councillor Christy Burke commenting after emerging from a meeting between Dublin Corporation and the Moore Street Fish Traders, at which the decision to not renew the licences was overturned.

Councillor Burke said:

``I am happy to say that Dublin Corporation has agreed to overturn its previous decision which would have removed another Dublin tradition, and will be renewing the licences for the fish traders on Moore St. One license was in fact renewed in my presence today.

``Dublin Corporation's judgement to reverse this short sighted decision and save the character and tradition of this street is a positive gesture. Everyone involved went away from this meeting satisfied and the Moore St. fish traders will be able to get back to business as usual.''
