Lurgan Parade decision unbelievable

Sinn Fein Assembly member for Upper Bann Dr. Dara O'Hagan has branded the Parades Commission decision to allow an Apprentice Boys parade up and down William Street as unbelievable.

Dr. O'Hagan said:

``The Parades Commission has decided to allow this parade to march down William Street, turn around at the bottom, and march back up again. William Street is a nationalist area of the town. There has been no consultation with local residents. There can be no possible justification for this parade being allowed to march. It is designed to cause the maximum offense possible.

``The people of William Street are furious that the Parades Commission are allowing this march to proceed and then back down their street.''ENDS
