Sinn Fein Chairperson welcomes INLA cease-fire

Sinn Fein Chairperson Mitchel Mc Laughlin has welcomed todays announcement by the INLA that it has ended its armed campaign.

Mr Mc Laughlin said:

``It is now up to the politicians to use the opportunity presented by another group declaring a cease-fire. The announcement today that the INLA is calling off its campaign should encourage the political Leaderships to forge ahead with the implementation of the changes which the people voted for in the Assembly elections.

``Any group not now on cease-fire should immediately announce an end to their campaign in order to allow the peace process to grow.''ENDS
