Sinn Fein welcomes Ervine move

Sinn Fein Assembly Member Bairbre De Brun has welcomed the acceptance by the PUP of the rights of our electorate and the substantial Sinn Fein mandate.

Ms De Brun said:

`` I welcome the decision by David Ervine and the PUP in embracing the rights of our electorate and the substantial mandate which Sinn Fein has received in successive elections. It is only when we all accept the equal legitimacy of each others mandate that we will be able to move forward in a mutually beneficial fashion.

``This recognition is a step in the right direction. It is a recognition that dialogue is the only way through which progress will be made. It is now imperative that all the parties move to implement the `Good Friday' agreement in its entirety.''
