Resignation of Dick Spring

Sinn Fein President Gerry Adams MP, commenting on Dick Spring's resignation as Labour Party Leader, said:

``Mr. Spring has been an impressive leader of the Labour Party, bringing it into government and a central role in Irish politics. I would like to pay tribute particularly to Mr. Spring's efforts in the peace process during the Coalition government of 1994 - 97. He consistently worked to remove obstacles to inclusive talks without preconditions.''
